Foaming Cleansers : Friend or Foe?

March 23, 2018

Foaming cleansers clean skin too thoroughly. They have increased levels of very effective cleansing ingredients that leave the skin over stripped and inflamed. The most common unfriendly ingredient is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. The more foam a foaming cleansers makes, typically, the more harsh its overall formula is. ⠀⠀

Although psychologically it seems stripping the skin is the right thing to do, physically it is not. Non foaming cleansers seem a little odd at first, but in time, you won't even miss that frothy little experience. You will notice your skin will be well cleansed, but not over dried or irritated.

The last thing we want to do is over-sensitize our skin and that’s exactly what these cleansers do. Thankfully, they are slowly becoming a thing of the past as we strive to maintain a healthy and youthful glow without over stressing our skin.
